Valeria Tarditi, PhD in Politics, Society and Culture (SPS/04), is Associate Professor in Political Scienca at the Department of Political and Social Sciences, University of Calabria, where she teaches Politics and Communication and Politics and Method of comparison. She is member of the Board of the PhD Program in "Politics, Culture and Development", Department of Political and Social Sciences, Unical. 

From 2022 to February 2025  has been tenure track Assistant Professor in Political Science at the Department of Political and Social Sciences, University of Calabria. In 2020 she was awarded the National Scientific Qualification (ASN) as Associate Professor (II fascia) in Political Science. From 2015 to 2021 she taught Political Science at the Dispes, Unical. She was postdoctoral research fellow in Political Science at the University of Bologna and at the University of Calabria and participated in national PRIN projects. She was visiting PhD student at the Sussex European Institute, University of Sussex (Brighton) and at the Departamento de Derecho Público y Teoria del Estado, Universidad de Santiago de Compostela and Visiting Research Fellow at the Centro de Estudios Políticos y Constitucionales in Madrid.

Her research deals with political parties, their organizational transformations and processes of digitisation and de-digitisation, Euroscepticism and populism, the analysis of political frames and narratives and, more recently, gender inequalities in paid and unpaid work. She currently is the Principal Investigator of the PRIN 2022 Project: 20222FRFZR “Making Sense of the Energy Transition: Political Framing and Social Conflicts Across Multiple Crises” and the Principal Investigator of the Unical local unit in the PRIN-PNRR Project P2022JLX7S “Freedom of Information, Democracy and the Environment: an empirical study on the Italian case” (National PI: Lorenzo Cicatiello, Unior).

She is part of the editorial board of the journal 'Nazioni e Regioni. Studi e ricerche sulla comunità immaginata” and of the Digital Parties Research Network.
