Sergio Bova is Full Professor of Mechanical Engineering at University of Calabria since 1st Nov 2000. He was Associate Professor of Internal Combustion Engines since 1992, Researcher since 1983, ATA Fellowship (1978/1980), Fellowship of the Agency for International Development (Washington D.C.) and Visiting Scientist at M.I.T. (Cambridge, MA) in 1986/87, where he started his experimental activity in the field of Laser Doppler Anemometry(LDA) .
Prof. Bova has been working in the fields of internal combustion engines, renewable energy and ship hydrodynamics, in the framework of contracts and cooperation with public and private organizations: National Research Council, ELASIS - Fiat Group, Ferrari Ge.S, Ducati Motor Holding, O.M.P. Officine Mazzocco Pagnoni s.r.l. His current research interests include:
- Internal combustion engines cooling systems;
- Fluid dynamic characterization of Internal Combustion Engines cylinder heads;
- Variable-displacement lubricating pumps for Internal Combustion Engines
- Ship hydrodynamic optimization
