Research activity
Since her postgraduate formation Roberta Lucente has carried out her research activity on themes which can be considered coherent with the main items and aims of this research project proposed by the University of Calabria. More precisely, three common subjects can be found: theoretical work on methodological bases of architectural design, which is highly significant in the perspective of creating a multidisciplinary model for analysis and project planning; the multi-scale dimension in the development of contemporary urban complex ,which has been widely addressed in her experience made as the head of Barcelona seminar in the postgraduate International Master in Project management, and which can suggest the correct approach to the specific research theme; reflection on the importance of typological tools which are still the subject of contemporary debate, mainly in the practice of restoration and refurbishment of ancient cities.
Methodological fundaments in architectural and urban design
The theoretical approach to architectural design has, among its main aims, the exploration of the methodological way which leads from creation to practice in architecture. The study of conceptual evolution in the creation of some architectural masterpieces can offer an important point of view. Starting from this belief, Roberta Lucente has carried out a critical and theoretical work of interpretation especially addressed to some contemporary architecture with the subsequent results:

The scientific contribution to project of typological studies
The taxonomic attitude is one of the main topics in typological studies, which can guarantee a scientific approach to architectural and urban design. The reflection on the value that these tools can still have in contemporary architectural research, especially in the field of restoration and refurbishment, is the basis of the subsequent products:
