Dr. Sudip CHAKRABORTY, born in Calcutta (Kolkata), India is a Doctorate in Chemical Engineering from Italy. Currently a faculty at the Laboratory of Transport Phenomena and Biotechnology, University of Calabria, Italy. He is also holding the prestigious Abilitazione Scientifica Nazionale- full professor in the sector – ING-IND 24. His major field of interest are membrane separation, plasmonic nanoparticles, composite materials, energy, and process intensification.Dr. Sudip’s research primarily focuses on testing and understanding the fouling mechanism of various physic-chemical processes as well as developing new membranes and membrane materials. A big part of his research has been focusing on determining the effect of the morphology of pore formation and pore wetting on membranes in different operating conditions. Dr. Chakraborty delivered several Keynote/Invited lectures and presentations in many prestigious international conferences all over the world.  Dr. Chakraborty published more than 150 scientific research publications in international SCI-indexed journals/book chapters. He has edited books and book chapters apart from several special issues in ISI journals.  He is a member of many different professional bodies including the European Membrane Society, Finnish Catalysis Society, IEEE, and ISGSD are some of them. He was also a visiting researcher at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT), Boston, USA as well as UCLA, . Dr. Chakraborty is an Associate editor of Groundwater for Sustainable Development (Elsevier Publication) as well as different other Springer journals such as Earth Systems and Environment, Emergent Materials as well as in the  Journal of Umm Al-Qura University for Applied Sciences.
