Giuseppe Franze'  received the Ph.D. degree in systems engineering in 1999 from the University of Calabria, Italy. Since 2022 he is a Full Professor at the University of Calabria with the DIMEG department. He authored or co-authored of more than 200 research papers in archival journals, book chapters and international conference proceedings. His current research interests include constrained predictive control, nonlinear systems, networked control systems, control under constraints and control reconfiguration for fault tolerant systems, resilient control for cyber-physical systems.

Giuseppe Franzè is a Professor with the DIMEG-University of Calabria starting from January 2022. He is the author of more than 200 papers published on peer-reviewed journals and conferences proceedings. He was involved in several research theoretical and applicative projects under MIUR/MUR, international research institutes and European Union. His current research interests are centralized and distributed predictive control, control reconfiguration for fault tolerant systems, networked control systems, obstacle avoidance problems for autonomous vehicles, cyber-physical systems, resilient control under cyber-attacks, machine learning-based model predictive control, data-driven predictive control. He is IEEE Senior Member starting from 2019, Associate Editor for IEEE/CAA Journal of Automatica Sinica (JAS) from 2019 and Guest Editor of the Special Issue on Resilient Control in Large-Scale Networked Cyber-Physical Systems - JAS, 2019. Plenary Lecture - SAFEPROCESS 2006 , Beijing: R. J. Patton, C. Kambhampati, A. Casavola and G. Franzè. Fault-tolerance as a key requirement for the control of modern systems. He is member of the IFAC technical committee ''TC 6.4 Fault Detection, Supervision&Safety of Technical Processes-SAFEPROCESS. Moreover, he is member of the Working Group - Safety and Security of Cyberphysical Systems. He received awards in international conferences: Best Paper - CoDIT’19; Best reviewer - IEEE ICAS 2021, Montreal, Canada, 2021. He was Visiting Professor at the Gina Cody School of Engineering and Computer Science, Concordia University, Montreal (Canada), November 2019 - December 2019.
Giuseppe Franzè was born in 1968 in Italy. He received his Laurea degree in computer engineering from the University of Calabria, Italy, in 1994 and the Ph.D degree in Systems engineering from the same University in 1999. From 1994 to 2002 he was with the DEIS Department of the University of Calabria, Italy as a Research Associate. From December 2002 to January 2015 he was an Assistant Professor with the same Department. From January 2015 to January 2022 he was an Associate Professor with the DIMES Department of the University of Calabria. From January 10 2022, he is a Professor with the DIMEG Department of the University of Calabria. He is the author of more than 200 papers published on refereed international journals and conferences proceedings. He was involved in several research theoretical and applicative projects under Italian Ministry. His early research activity was in interpolation and approximation theory, robust control, robust pole placement. Actually, his main scientific interests include constrained predictive control, control under constraints and control reconfiguration for fault tolerant systems, networked control systems, supervision approaches for remote control of dynamic systems over communication data networks, Sum-of-Squares Programming, obstacle avoidance problems for autonomous vehicles in dynamic environments, distributed MPC paradigms, cyber-Physical Systems, resilient control under cyber-attacks, machine learning-based model predictive control, data-driven MPC.
