I am a Researcher (RTD-B) of Nephrology at the University of Calabria and a Nephrologist at the AO Annunziata. I also hold the role of Research Affiliate at the Alma Mater Studiorum University of Bologna. I carry out my research in the field of chronic kidney disease for the stratification of the risk of cardiovascular damage and end-stage renal disease. I also carry out activities in the field of intervention studies to optimize the care of patients with kidney disease. I have numerous international collaborations, in particular with the University Medical Center Groningen with which we conduct the Horizon Europe PRIME-CKD project for the implementation of personalized medicine in kidney patients, and with the International Society of Nephrology with which I work on the periodic drafting of the Global Trial Focus (GTF) and the GTF for patients. I am also a member of the Senate of EU-PEACE, a collaboration program between universities. In the clinical field, I deal with all Clinical Nephrology with particular dedication to chronic kidney failure, kidney transplantation and replacement dialysis methods.
