Milena Lopreite received her Laurea degree in Economics from the University of Calabria in 2004. She attended the Dottorato di Ricerca (PhD) in Applied Economics from the University of Calabria in 2012. She also received a second PhD in Economics from University of Parma in 2016. In 2013 she has her master’s degree in Applied Econometrics at School of Economics (SSEF)-Ministry of Economics and Finance, Rome. From 2019 to 2022 she was Assistant Professor (RTDA) in Statistics at the University of Calabria.

 She had been Visiting Research Fellow at the Health Economics Lancaster Research Group (HEAL), University of Lancaster in 2014-2015. From 2017 to 2019 she was Research Fellow, at the Institute of Economics, in Scuola Superiore Sant’Anna Pisa and after at the Centre for Economic and International Studies (CEIS), University of Tor Vergata Rome.

 Currently she is assistant professor (tenure track) in Political Economy at the Department of Economics, Statistics and Finance “G.Anania”, University of Calabria. In November  2020 she took the Italian Academic Qualification as ‘Professore di seconda fascia’ (Associate Professor) in ‘Economia Politica’ (Political Economy 13/A1), and in Politica Economica’ (Economic Policy 13/A2).

 Her research interests are mainly focused on Macroeconometrics, Time series, Health Economics and Ageing, Policy analysis and Causality. She co-authored many papers in international journals, and conference proceedings. She also reviewer for several international journals and she was involved with several funded research projects, both national and European.
