Massimo MIGLIORI is Associate Professor in the S.S.D. ING- IND / 27 "Industrial and Technological Chemistry" at the University of Calabria, since December 2017. Qualified as Full Professor for the Scientific sector 09-D3 "Chemical Industrial Processes and Plants" from September 2019 (ASN 2018-2020). Research activities in brief (2010 – 2020) The research activity of Prof. M. Migliori, is devoted to the study of production processes and industrial transformation, with particular reference to the synthesis, characterization and application of nanostructured materials for applications to sustainable processes and of "Green Chemistry". Furthermore, he has been active in the research field related to the use of water in supercritical conditions to conduct gasification reactions of humid substrates to obtain (bio) syngas and in the development of pilot-scale processes for the purification of biogas, through techniques of membrane separation, for placing on the grid. In the period indicated, the research was characterized by multidisciplinary aspects, also attested by the collaborations with different research groups active in private companies and research institutions. The main issues addressed can be summarized in the following research lines: 1. The valorization of biomasses through high pressure thermochemical processes and the purification of biogas for direct injection into the distribution network; 2. The development of nanostructured materials to support the production processes of bio-fuels, additives and intermediates of "Green Chemistry"; 3. The development of nanostructured materials for the separation of hydrocarbon fractions from dilute aqueous solutions for the creation of innovative processes for the treatment of water polluted by organic fractions. 4. The development of recovery, enhancement and recycling processes of polyvinyl chloride (PVC) -based plastic fractions, coming from the recovery of waste materials. 5. Development and technological innovation in the enhancement of the Organic Fraction of Urban Solid Waste Scientific responsibility for research projects funded on the basis of competitive calls • From 1 April 2019 to date: Responsible of the local Research Unit of the University of Calabria of the Research Project "Advanced Membranes for biogas upgrading and high added value compounds recovery - BIOVALUE ", funded by the European Community as part of the M-ERA.NET Call 2018 - Call Topic: Functional materials. • From 1 August 2017 to 17 November 2019: Responsible of the local Research Unit of the University of Calabria in the context of the Industrial Research Project "PVC UpCycling - Zero Waste Circular Economy with upcycling of waste from electrical plant management processes ", funded by the Calabria Region under the POR CALABRIA FESR-FSE 2014-2020, Scientific responsibility for studies and research activities financed by Research Bodies and Private Companies • From 1 August 2017 to date: Scientific Head of the Collaboration Agreement between TECHFEM S.p.A.
