Silvestro Antonio Ruffolo serves a Researcher at the Department of Biology, Ecology, and Earth Sciences (DiBEST - University of Calabria), since 2022. In 2017 he obtained the Italian National Scientific Qualification (ASN) as Associate Professor (04/A1 - Geochemistry, Mineralogy, Petrology, Volcanology, Earth Resources and Applications, Subject Area: GEO/09 - Mining Resources, Mineralogic And Petrographic Applications for the Environment and Cultural Heritage). 
His research interest is focused on scientific aspects regarding the characterization and conservation of Cultural Heritage materials. He is involved in the formulation of novel products for the conservation of stone materials, invasive and non-invasive techniques for the analysis of stone materials and their forms of degradation, studies of the interaction between environment and built heritage.
