Since 2024 Associate Professor in Environmental and Applied Botany at the Department of Biology, Ecology and Earth Sciences of the University of Calabria.

From 2021 to 2024 Type B Researcher at the Department of Biology, Ecology and Earth Sciences of the University of Calabria.

From 2000 to 2021 Technical-Scientific Officer with the function of Curator of the Botanical Garden of the University of Calabria.

From 2019 to 2021 Head of the Natural History Museum of Calabria and Botanical Garden of the University of Calabria.

From 2007 to 2021 Curator in charge of the Botanical Garden section of the Natural History Museum of Calabria and the Botanical Garden of the University of Calabria.

In 1995 Achieved a PhD in "Biosystematics and Plant Ecology" (sixth cycle) with administrative headquarters in Florence.

In 1990 Graduated in Natural Sciences at the University of Florence, with honours.

Currently

Member of the Scientific Council of the Museum System of the University of Calabria.

Member of the Technical Committee for the Protection of the Nature and Mycological Heritage of Calabria (LR of 26/11/2001 n. 30) as representative of the Botanical Garden of the University of Calabria.

Scientific coordinator of the pilot project "Operational protocols and tools for the conservation and sustainable use of terrestrial ecosystems" (Spoke 2 - Goal 2.3 PP2) of the project "Technologies for climate change adaptation and quality of life improvement (Tech4You) (Ecosistemi dell'Innovazione - ECS 00000009, CUP H23C22000370006,  National Recovery and Resilience Plan, Mission 4, Component 2, Investment 1.5, funded by the European Union – "NextGenerationEU”).

Member of the teaching staff of the LIFE SCIENCE AND TECHNOLOGY research doctorate.

Phytotaxa Section Editor for Morphometrics (general subject) and Saxifragales (Eudicots).

Participation in numerous national and regional projects and author of over 220 publications in international journals and conferences, of which over 90 were indexed on Scopus and/or WoS.
