Adriano Guido graduated in 2003 in Geological Sciences at the University of Calabria (Unical) and obtained the title of PhD in Earth Sciences in 2007. In 2019 he obtained the position of University Researcher with a fixed term - type B position in the scientific-disciplinary sector GEO/01, at the Department of Biology, Ecology and Earth Sciences of the University of Calabria, and in 2022 the position of Associate Professor. He dedicated commitment in the third mission dealing with museum organization and promotion and, since 2022, he is head of the Paleontology Section and member of the Scientific Council of the University Museum System of Unical. Since 2023 he is a member of the Board of Directors of the Italian Paleontological Society. He develops researches in the field of geomicrobiology and biomineralizations in current and fossil carbonate systems, in particular on the ecological and paleoecological significance of microbialites and on the role of auctochthonous micrites in the depositional geometries of carbonate bioconstructions. In this area I has focused the researches on the characterization of fossil organic matter and on the importance of this component for the reconstruction of geobiological processes related to the activities of organisms and microorganisms with low conservation potential.
