My research is centred on the geological evolution of Southern Apennine – Calabrian Arc chains; specifically it is focused on Calabrian Tertiary basin analysis and their tectono-stratigraphic setting. Other research interests involves: palaeogeographic and palaeotectonic evolution of the Alpine orogen in Southern Italy; evaporites and salt tectonics in different geotectonic settings; relationship between continental accretionary processes, volcanic activity and clastic sedimentation in orogenic systems of the circum-mediterranean regions; Neogene to Quaternary tectonic evolution of Northern and Southern Calabria. The research activity is summurized in national and international papers and congress acts.
