Fabio Scarciglia is an expert in Geopedology, Geomorphology and Quaternary Geology. After he got his Master's degree in Geological Sciences and PhD at the University of Naples Federico II, he came to UNICAL in 2001, first as a post-doc research fellow and later as a researcher and then an associate professor. He has carried out his major research, teaching and training activities in these fields, both for the Bachelor' and Master's degrees in Geological Sciences (of which he is now the Coordinator) and for PhD Courses, also in collaboration with other Italian and foreign universities and research institutes. His research is widely multidisciplinary, multianalytical and multiscale, spanning from the study of weathering, pedogenic and geomorphic processes and their quantitative estimation to paleoclimatic and paleoenvironmental reconstructions, integrating field surveys and laboratory analyses. He authored several articles in national and international scientific journals, book chapters, conference proceedings, monographic contributions, abstracts presented in conferences, etc. He is editor of two international journals and reviewer of more than thirty of them. He is involved in several guidance initiatives and public engagement.
