Gaetano Robustelli was born in Boscoreale (NA) on April 12, 1967. He got his degree in Geological Sciences in 1991. At present he holds a fix position at the University of Calabria as Researcher of Geomophology. In 1992, he was awarded with a three-years fellowship in Quaternary Geology by the University of Bari. From 1998 to 2002 he was involved in the CARG Project funded by the Italian National Geological Survey and aimed at the attainment of a new geological map of Italy (F. 393 "Trivento" and 486 "Foce del Sele") From 1998 to 2002 he was invited to lecture Physical Geography and Geomorphology at the University of Calabria. In 2002 he became researcher in Geomorphology at the University of Calabria, Earth Science Department. He faced different research themes concerning Quaternary Geology and Geomorphology, the results of his researches have been published in tens scientific papers both on national and international reviews. In particular his research focused on the study of the evolution of the coastal plains, the influence of the tectonic evolution of short and long-term landscape evolution of the relationship between geomorphology, sedimentation and pedogenesis. Member of the following scientific associations: AIGEO (Italian Association of Physical Geography and Geomorphology), AIQUA (Italian Association for the Study of the Quaternary), Manager of research unit and membership of the following research projects: (i) Project PON - SIT Calabria, (ii) POR Calabria 2000-2006 (Autorità di Bacino Regionale Regione Calabria) – landslide hazard (Lotto 1), alluvial fan processes and hazard (Lotto 4) and interaction between the coastal and river sediment transport (Lotto 11), (iii) PON Project "Research and Competitiveness 2007-2013" -Integrated systems for monitoring, early warning and mitigation of landslide risk along the main roads
