TEACHING ACTIVITIES-Prof. Roberta Cassano from 2006 to today holds lessons in the scientific field CHIM/09 for the Degree Course in Scientific Information on Drug, Scientific Information on the Drug and on Health Products, Technologies of Cosmetic Product, Chemistry and Technology Pharmaceutical, Pharmacy, Healthcare and Nutrition Science at the Department of Pharmacy and Health Sciences and Nutrition, University of Calabria. From 2016 to 2021 member of the proposing committee and lecturer for the II level Master in Functional Cosmetics in Dermatology and Trichology, for the I level Master Nursing Research and for the II level Master in Technology and Galenic Legislation. President and member of the commissions the teachings of the Technologic Pharmaceutical Applicative Sector CHIM/09. Prof. Roberta Cassano was supervisor of several theses and of two PhD thesis in Translational Medicine-XXX and XXXIV Cycles. From 2010 to today member of the Board of the Degree Course in Scientific Information on the Drug and on Health Products of the Department of Pharmacy and Health Sciences and Nutrition, University of Calabria. In addition, Prof. Roberta Cassano has effected supplementary didactic activities at the Department of Pharmacy and Health Sciences and Nutrition-University of Calabria and of Engineering from 2001 to 2008. In 2018 and 2020: Scientific referent of six projects in the field of Alternating School Work-MIUR. In 2019 she was part of the scientific committee of the conference Novel Pain Therapeutics: From Basic Research to Clinical Translation and Rehabilitation held at the University of Calabria from 23 to 25 October 2019. In 2019 she was external reviewer of two doctoral thesis in the Area of Medicines and Innovative Treatments XXXI cycle of the University of Florence and of Pharmaceutical Sciences XXXIV cycle of University of Sapienza in Rome. In 2019 member of the Selection Committee for the evaluation of candidates qualification for the Master in Technology and Galenic Legislation-Department of Pharmacy and Health Sciences and Nutrition -University of Calabria. From 2012 to 2020 she dealt with incoming student practices for the ISFPS degree course of the Department of Pharmacy and Health Sciences and Nutrition of the University of Calabria. From 2020 to today tutor professor for the Degree in Pharmacy of the Department of Pharmacy and Nutrition Sciences of the University of Calabria. Member of the Board of the Department of Pharmacy and Health Sciences and Nutrition of the University of Calabria for the three-year period 2015-2018 (D.D. n. 37 of 30/05/2016). From 2014 to today aggregate member of the qualification commission exam for the Profession of Pharmacist-Department of Pharmacy and Health Sciences and Nutrition-University of Calabria. Prof. Roberta Cassano has been dealing with the organization of the Doctoral School for Advanced Training in Technological-Pharmaceutical Disciplines from 2001 to 2019. In 2021 and 2022 member and president of commission for he admission tests to the degree course in Medicine and Surgery. In 2020, 2022 and 2024 scientific responsible of two annual research grant for carrying out research activities at the Department of Pharmacy and Health and Nutrition Sciences of the University of Calabria, in the Competition Sector 03/D2-Technology, socio-economics and medicines legislation- Scientific disciplinary sector CHIM/09 (Applicative Pharmaceutical Technology). In 2023 president of the TOLC MED and VET commission. In 2024 president of the admissions tests commission for the degree course in Medicine and Surgery. In 2023 and 2024 teacher for courses related to the OrSI orientation project (Sustainable and inclusive orientation). In 2023 Visiting Professor at "Ovidius University" of Constanta-Romania and Training activities at the Faculty of Pharmacy of the University of Medicine and Pharmacy of Bucharest-Romania. In 2024 Visiting Professor at the Faculty of Pharmacy of the University of Seville-Spain. PARTICIPATION IN PROJECTS OF INTERNATIONAL SCIENTIFIC RESEARCH AND NATIONAL FUNDING ALLOWED-In 2007-2013 she participated to SILA Project (2007-2013 PON Research and Competitiveness call). In 2013 she was scientific director of The project New lipid nanocarriers for the transport of metalloprotease inhibitors (MMPI) in the glaucoma post-surgical treatment (ARUE-Call for Award of a Research Grant Regional Operative Program Calabria ESF 2007/2013-IV Axis Human Capital-Operational Objective M2). In 2024 external reviewer of a doctoral thesis in Pharmaceutical Sciences 37th cycle of the University "Sapienza" of Rome. In 2015 she participated in the Research Projects Mis. 124 Methods of use of oregano and its waste for the sustainable production of cosmetic products and PhytoCalabria. In 2017 she obtained a financing of the basic research activities referred to art. 1, comma 295 and following, of the Law 11 december 2016 N.232. 2017-2019 participation to POR CALABRIA FESR 2014/2020 projects entitled Development of a functional paste obtained by mixing vegetable flours and Polyphenolic extract obtained from olive leaves for the prevention of fibrosis in peritoneal dialysis. In 2019 she was part of the scientific committee of the International Conference Novel Pain Therapeutics: From Basic Research to Clinical Translation and Rehabilitation-University of Calabria-23/25 October. In 2020 she was scientific manager of an annual research grant entitled Design, construction and study of new materials and polymeric films with modulable chemical-physical properties. From 2021-01-01 to 2023-06-30 participation in the project Si.Fi.PA.CRO.DE-Development and industrialization of innovative drugs for personalized molecular therapy PA.CRO.DE. AGREEMENTS 2020: Scientific manager of the agreement between the Department of Pharmacy and Health and Nutrition Sciences of the University of Calabria and the Ecor International S.p.A. company based in Schio (Mantua) for the development of polymers with controlled dielectric properties. 2021: Scientific manager of the agreement between the Department of Pharmacy and Health and Nutrition Sciences of the University of Calabria and the Medisilk SpA company based in San Donà di Piave (Venice) for the study of the properties of Epifibroin and the development of new materials usable in the cosmetic, pharmaceutical and biomedical fields. 2024: Scientific manager of the agreement between the Department of Pharmacy and Health and Nutrition Sciences of the University of Calabria and the OP Ortocal Soc. Coop. Agricola organization based in Corigliano Rossano for the development of recyclable food packaging using fruit waste. SCIENTIFIC ACTIVITIES-Prof. Cassano research covers the following areas: Derivatization and characterization of natural fibers for use in the pharmaceutical, cosmetic, biomedical and agro-food fields; Characterization of polymeric matrices derivatized with natural antioxidants; Preparation of micro- and nano-particles for the creation of drug delivery systems; Modification of commercial surfactants for the production of polymer matrices of pharmaceutical interest; Study of membranes and membrane processes; Design, synthesis and characterization of liquid crystals for applications in electro-optical and pharmaceutical field. Prof. Cassano is the author and co-author of 86 publications (H-index 28) on international journals, 8 review on international journals, 16 review books with ISBN, of the translation of Italian edition of the book Principi di calcolo farmaceutico chapter and 86 contributions, abstracts and posters in proceedings of national and international scientific events.
