Luigi Pasqua
-Born in Cosenza on 01/09/1968;
-Degree in Chemistry, University of Calabria 1996;
-PhD in “Industrial Engineering”, at the University of Cassino (2002);
-Research fellow at the “Department of Materials Engineering and Production” of University of Naples Federico II (2000-2002);
-Research fellow at the “Department of Chemical Engineering and Materials” of the University of Calabria (2003-2007);
-Assistant Professor in the SSD ING-IND/22 at the Faculty of Engineering of the University of Calabria (2007);
- Author of more than 25 paper on international journals in the field of synthesis, characterization and innovative applications of micro- and mesoporous materials.
- LUIGI PASQUA is Associate professor (Qualification as Full professor Professor ASN 2016) in Material Science and Technology at the Department of Environmental and Chemical Engineering, University of Calabria. His main interests in research concern the design, synthesis and characterization of nanostructured materials. In particular his research activity is focused on multifunctional hybrid mesoporous silica-based materials, potentially useful for drug targeting or as sensors. He believes that the creation and structuring of the matter as molecular systems, at the nanometer scale, represents the possibility to interact with biological systems and to produce devices potentially useful in therapy. Luigi Pasqua is founder of the Unical spin-off NanoSiliCal Devices Srl, a company focused on the applications of nanostructured materials.
He is the author of the book” Update on Silica-based Mesoporous Materials for Biomedical Applications.” published by Smithers Rapra Publishing in 2011.
He is author of more than 40 papers on international journals in the field of synthesis, characterization and innovative applications of micro- and mesoporous materials.
He is co-inventor and co-author in several patent and patent applications.
