Alfonso Senatore was born in 1977 in Polla (SA), Italy. He graduated cum laude in Environmental Engineering in the Academic Year (AY) 1999-2000 at the University of Calabria (UNICAL). In 2001 he started his academic and scientific collaboration with the Dept. of Soil Conservation, UNICAL, where, in 2006, he completed his PhD in Environmental Hydraulic Engineering. After being a Tenure-Track Researcher (Ricercatore Tempo Determinato - Tipo B), since 2019 he is Associate Professor at the Department of Environmental Engineering, UNICAL. Research experience Research fellow at UNICAL since 2006, his research activities are predominantly developed in the fields of hydrology, ecohydrology and hydrometeorology, with theoretical, numeric and experimental researches. Main subjects handled are: one-way coupled and fully-coupled atmospheric-hydrological modelling; spatially-distributed hydrological and eco-hydrological modelling; high-performance computing for hydrological sciences; river networks dynamics and cross-scale impact on biogeochemical processes; evapotranspiration monitoring through direct and remotely sensed methods; drought indices and water resources management. During his research activities, he was hosted for several periods in foreign research centres and universities, among which the KIT Campus Alpin, Garmisch-Partenkirchen (Germany, 2008-2015), the Department of Geography and Earth Science at the University of Nebraska at Kearney (USA, 2011), the National Center for Atmospheric Research (NCAR) (Boulder, Colorado - USA, 2011). Furthermore, he is currently affiliated to the Euromediterranean Center on Climate Change (CMCC) concerning coupled atmosphere-hydrological modelling in the Adriatic Basin. Research activities are documented by over 150 contributions (among which about 50 papers ISI indexed).
