Maria Stefania Sinicropi is Associate Professor of Medicinal Chemistry at Department of Pharmacy, Health and Nutritional Science of University of Calabria, from December 2006.
The main focus of the research activity concerns: the study of new molecules as anticancer drugs; the design, synthesis and biological evaluation of compounds of pharmaceutic interest; the study and biological evaluation of nutraceuticals.
Currently she is the scientific coordinator of Master Degree Course in Pharmaceutical Chemistry and Technology and of the Master Course of II level in “Nutrition and Nutraceutical Supplements" at University of Calabria. She coordinated many research projects and is teacher of some courses in the pharmaceutical field. She trained several PhD students and postdoctoral fellows and collaborates with numerous national and international research groups in the field of medicinal chemistry and nutraceutical.

EDUCATION: PhD in Chemical Sciences, in the laboratories of the Faculty of Sciences, Dep. Chemistry of the University of Messina (1992-1994). Grant in Organic Chemistry at the CNR-M.I.S.O. (Innovative Methodology in Organic Synthesis) laboratories, University of Bari, from 15th of June 1991 to the 15th of June 1992. The main focus of the research activity concerns: new synthetic methods for the preparation of pharmacologically active compounds, design, synthesis and biological evaluation of library of compounds with several activities, mainly anti-tumors.

Professor M.S. Sinicropi trained several PhD students and postdoctoral fellows and collaborates with numerous national and international research groups of the synthetic chemistry and nutraceutics.
