Andrea Bloise is currently research in mineralogy at the Department of Biology, Ecology and Earth Sciences (DiBEST) at Calabria University, Rende, Italy. His research focuses on hydrothermal synthesis and flux growth at high temperature and pressure of phases with a special attention to sheet silicates, asbestos minerals and borate. He has expertise in X-ray powder diffraction (XRPD), scanning and transmission electron microscopy (SEM and TEM), thermal analysis (TG/DSC). Professor of Mineralogy within the Geology Course at the Department of Biology, Ecology and Earth Sciences (Calabria University). He is the author of several international peer reviewed scientific publications and scientific director of the Laboratory of Experimental Mineralogy at the DiBEST.
