PAOLO NEVONE BLASI received from the University of Calabria a degree in Civil Engineering in 2004. In 2008, he received a Ph.D. degree in "Material and Structural Engineering" from the Department of Structural Engineering of the University of Calabria. POSITION: From October 2022 to date: Associate Professor of Structural Engineering at the Department of Civil Engineering of the University of Calabria, Italy; From December 2008 to September 2022: Assistant Professor of Structural Engineering at the Department of Civil Engineering of the University of Calabria, Italy; TEACHING ACTIVITIES: Undergraduate courses of Analysis and Structural Design Laboratory, Strength of Materials, Statics. CURRENT RESEARCH ACTIVITIES: damage problems for structural elements reinforced by means of composite materials; analytical and numerical investigation of debonding problems in beams strengthened using FRP plates; homogenization techniques for heterogeneous materials with evolving micro-structure due to contact and microcracking phenomena; study of micro and macro-instability phenomena for composite solids with periodic microstructure; non-linear macroscopic behavior of fiber-reinforced materials due to initiation and propagation of interface micro-cracks using multi-scale homogenization techniques; finite element models for the study of the non-linear static behavior of long-span cable supported bridges. PUBBLICATIONS: co-author of 78 research papers, published on international referred journals and proceedings of national and international conferences.
