Mariafrancesca D'Agostino is a confirmed researcher in the scientific-disciplinary sector SPS/11 - Sociology of political phenomena, Department of Political and Social Sciences, University of Calabria. She graduated in Law in 1998 (LUISS “Guido Carli”, cum laude), in 1999 was admitted to the Master in Parliamentary Studies and Research “Silvano Tosi” at the University of Florence, in 2007 she obtained a PhD in Sociology (University of Calabria). She teaches Political Sociology (Bachelor's Degree in Political Science, UniCal) and Migration and Global Citizenship (Master's Degree in Sciences for Cooperation and Development, UniCal). Since 2020, she is a member of the Doctoral College of "Politics, Culture and Development" (Department of Political and Social Sciences, Unical). Since 2021 has founded and co-direct, with Francesco Raniolo, “Futuri Urbani. Visions, actions and policies for the transition of cities" (a shout course organized by the Department of Political and Social Sciences of UniCal, in collaboration with the Liaison Office of UniCal and with the Inter-university Center «Ecologia Politica Societa» of the University of Pisa). She is also a member of the “Food, Work, Migration and Development” research laboratory (Department of Political and Social Sciences, Unical). Her research interests focus on topics relating to: forced migration; European governance of border control and reception policies; the role of civic participation in the processes of urban regeneration and social innovation; the feminization of migration and agriculture; the mobility of Roma minorities in the European Union. She is part of the Scientific Committee of: the editorial series “Ossidiana. Theory, culture and daily life” (Editore Pellegrini); “Democracies and Conflicts” (series directed by Manuel Anselmi and Fabio de Nardis); “Lessico Democratico” (series directed by Manuel Anselmi). Since June 2020, has been delegated to the Placement services of DISPeS, Unical.
