Systems I.C.T. designed and implemented
The activities of research conducted have found explicit in the following design and implementation of technological systems for learning.
[GRIADLEARN] -GRIADLearn is a platform for the management and delivery of distance learning courses, e-Learning, whose technological structure is based on the architecture of functional CMS (Course Management System) open source Moodle. GRIADLearn presents a simple graphical interface and an intuitive interface that allows the learner to interact with all stakeholders in education (teachers, tutors, administrators, technical-scientific, other learners, etc..). The platform meets a training model based on social-constructivist paradigm and in particular the so-called cooperative learning, ie in a way that allows the learner to the "construction" of a form of shared knowledge. GRIADLearn is, therefore, a learning environment in a generation networking within the meaning of "intellectual work environment" within which they develop the socio-affective subjects in training and is favored to reach the paradigms related to just-in-time learning, student-centered-learning and co-learning. Reference publications: [14].
[I-LESSON] I-LESSON is a tool for the management and delivery of multimedia content that can be easily integrated into learning environments on the network then web-based training systems. The tool allows the trainees the use of a video-lesson indexed on the basis of indices that represent meta-data of the lecture itself, through the use of various forms of communication and using a multichannel approach. This allows you to create a collaborative learning environment in which the lesson takes on the new paradigm of "participatory class" and the subject-user takes an active and participatory. The strength of the system is the ability to synchronize in a single web interface the various media objects (video, images, text, etc..) And then enjoy them with remarkable ease, effectiveness and interaction. Reference publications: [12], [20], [33].
[I-OBSERVATION] - I-OBSERVATION represents an extension of I-LESSON tool that allows forms of interaction in multimedia content indexed with the aim to create an environment of cooperative and collaborative work in optics. During the use of indexed video lesson, the subject has the ability to adjust the video and post their opinion (comments, questions, reflections, etc..); Quesisti these are stored in the database associated with the timer in the video where it was post surgery and a series of meta-data (learner profile, index of video lessons, etc..). The teacher has the ability to monitor operations through an administration interface and can perform a series of choices: to provide the answer, and suggestions for further reflection, analysis etc.. All subjects then-users have the possibility of retrieving the interventions according to various methods of consultation. Reference publications: [14], [19], [30].

Description of the research.
[PRIN2006] - The research has its roots on one hand on the current concept of training and on the other hand on the potential assumed by the new information technologies, media and knowledge (IMCT), regarded as tools for intellectual work, and increasingly used in educational field, it aims to identify and validate methods for the design of simulated learning environments on-site and online, through the creation of a system of e-learning and blended learning.
The purpose is to demonstrate how the simulation, understood as a teaching strategy, it may represent, in the value of e-learning, a highly significant resource to develop and facilitate the metacognitive dimension of the trainees in the development and construction skills; in addition to making the e-learning system "adaptive", cognitively compatible, so as to allow both activity retrievial semantically relevant information for the student who interacts with both a different projection of educational content in a manner of representation in line with the cognitive profile of each student (user profiling).
The research, also, with reference to models of interaction, dialogue and dialectic, natural language, critical self-evaluation and constant reflection towards collaborative, cooperative and shared ideas, the objective is to study valid pedagogical models that are learner centered, that is based on collaborative and cooperative learning. The research was carried out in collaboration between experts in teaching on the one hand, and experts in communication technology education and the other involves the construction of a tool, based on an intelligent agent, called "TutorBot". The research, to date, has allowed the publications [22], [23].
[LC3] - The research projectc LC3 aims the development of methodologies and repeatable solutions to accompany the digitization and communication of documentary memories of the local reservoirs, supporting the creation of post-coordinated and didactic narrative paths through the testimony of history and local culture. The aim is to study and implement a prototype platform for the delivery of audiovisual content encrypted and protected by DRM with remote management policy, favoring social-economic identity of the territory through effective solutions to promote tourism and the creation of new resources for the world of education. In particular, the results of the research include: 1) definition of a methodology and solutions for metadata management 2) The development of a management architecture of digital media; 3) The development of a reference model semantic annotation and versatile solutions for assisted generation of domain ontologies; 4) the development of solutions and to support the work of semantic annotation of documentary sources (repositories digital domain) and semantically enriched information retrieval on the same; 5) The establishment of an integrated environment of storytelling; 6) the development of a methodology and technology solutions for the assisted production of multi-level web publications based on XML and management of user profiles; 7) the definition of methods of user profiling for personalized information delivery; 8) The creation of a software component for the use of media content delivery systems and the optimization of the distribution network architectures which will be determined as appropriate by the project . The research project to date has allowed the followingpublications [24], [25], [26].
[GEINF] - The research analyzed the flow of information produced by business organizations (public and private) to arrive at the conceptual definition of a system in place to improve the internal management of production processes, taking into account the whole chain that leads to the generation of knowledge. The system is an integration of technologies, methods and algorithms "web based" designed to help manage information and knowledge has created a computer system to catalog, manage and track digital information produced by companies.
[PROMO] - Objective of the research project was the implementation and customization of e-learning platform for the management and delivery of on-line courses /seminars, on the basis of face-to-face educational activities. The platform as well as performing the functions of LMS (Learning Management System), for the management of educational content alone, was further extended and localized to a C-LMS (Content - Learning Management System) for the management of non-educational content: presentation of the course catalog, manage a web based form for registration on the web entry forms, publication of news, etc.. The research project has allowed the following publication [16].
[PR2010] - The research ranges from the increasingly close relations between the world of education and Information and Communication Technologies (ICT), which recently led to the independence of education on physical and temporal constraints and a shift attention on the needs of the learner, placing more emphasis on collaboration in learning environments. The current knowledge society requires that education has to be maintained throughout life (life-long-learning) that will result in building social skills, so as to ensure autonomy and cognitive flexibility to the learner new knowledge supported by information technology and communication. The goal is to foster the process of building and knowledge sharing in online learning environments through the design and implementation of a Web-based tool called e-Underline, which allows the student to take an active role in his learning process, attributing great importance to the aspects of sociability, informality and spontaneity, the crucial elements of Web 2.0.
[PR2009] - The object of research has its roots on one hand on the current concept of education and on the other hand on training potentials’ assumed by the new technologies of information and knowledge, considered as tools for intellectual work and lately used invasively in educational contexts. The process of training, having to continue throughout the life span (life-long-learning) and having to translate the social construction of skills, is increasingly called upon to ensure autonomy and cognitive flexibility in acquiring new knowledge is subjects to both the relate to new knowledge, increasingly channeled and supported by information technology and communication. The aim is to encourage and facilitate students' metacognitive dimension in the development and construction skills and to deliver online content to the cognitive and learning styles of the trainees, in order to customize the processes of teaching and learning. Parallel to the production and organization of multimedia materials on line, some research areas will be developed, linked to the methods of communication and learning in constructionist direction, so as to establish a dialectical relationship between the nature of the materials, context and the dynamic nature and integrated metacognitive skills, developed through the ongoing identification and profiling of students' learning styles and through the dialogical, critical reflexivity and collaborative and shared, thereby activating the processes of metacognition that they move towards the development of a mentality scientific, and critical issues. The research, therefore, intends to follow oriented methods to communication and constructivist learning and metacognitive skills as well as self-assessment, using methodologies and statistical and computer techniques for the identification of user profiles and cognitive styles, navigation and learning.
[PR2008] - The research aims to create a tool integrated by an intelligent agent for the management of natural language, a PABX (Private Automatic Branch eXchange) and a VoIP system (daemon) of control for monitoring the activities of servers within web-learning environments, with the aim of controlling the activities of e-learning platform at all times to promptly notify the teaching team in case of need for the learning community on assistance to the contents and alert the technical area in case of malfunctions of the server hosting the e-learning platform.
[PR2007] - The research led to the creation of a tool called Indexed Questions (IQ) that allows the learner to formulate questions on-line with the ability to attach them to an index that points directly to the video-lesson concerned. The questions once stored in the database, allow to enrich the base knowledge of the system and to ensure high levels of interactivity. The tool, that is the main object of the study, is able to share information among students, and to increase interaction with the teacher. In the application was finally included the possibility to notify the teacher by chat directly from the webpage of the video-lesson, which is automatic after the activation by the teacher. The research to date has allowed the following publications [6], [10], [19].
[PR2006] - The purpose of this research was the identification of tools to facilitate human-machine interaction and at the same time the interaction between all actors involved in the processes of learning, fostering the main objectives underlying the socio-constructivist model and applying intelligent agents in e-learning contexts, in order to achieve greater automation of processes of learning, while optimizing the management arrangements of knowledge. The research allowed to design and implement a tool to support the activities of online tutoring based on the language AIML (Artificial Intelligence Markup Language), able to minimize the activities performed by humans, specifically by the tutors, in a platform and e-learning, with the advantage of being always available. The research to date has allowed the following publications [22], [23].
[PR2005] - The research focused on the management tools for monitoring and evaluation of learning in the network, focusing on the adoption of a standard for the management of on-line test, in order to improve the entire learning process and to ensure high levels of interoperability, reuse and platform-independence. We analyzed the tools for monitoring and evaluation on line, with particular attention to the study and adoption of the Standard QTI-XML, which is used by most of e-learning platforms and used internationally. The main purpose was to provide specifications for the implementation of an authoring system that automates the organization and management of a process of assessment in all its phases: generation - storage - Administration - Evaluation. The research has allowed the following publication [27].
[PR2004] - The research allowed us to develop a model of information system, based on the paradigm of the world wide web and that can handle heterogeneous and multimedia data. The main features implemented were: 1) Improving the quality of teaching and reducing educational costs, 2) Ease of access and use through integration with the Internet and with cellular networks to 3G and 2.5 G, 3) Flexibility in the sense of implementing a model that can adapt to different logistical conditions (internet, intranet, LAN, wireless networks, heterogeneous terminal user equipement, etc..) and hardware / software structures that host, 4) Management of Multimedia through 'import, export, analysis and retrieving information in highly structured and multimedia based; 5) Support to Communication, Interoperability from/to other platforms and multi-channel (mobile terminals, pOS, wireless terminals, mobile phones, etc..).
[PRIN2003] - The research allowed to design, implement and assess the added value of education sites and e-learning modules, describing and validating, through experimentation, development methodologies and transfer of best practices in university teaching. To achieve this goal, the research sought to identify the pathways operating in two critical areas such as: 1. methods of communication and constructivist learning; 2.monitoring and evaluation on line. - Project PRIN 2003-2005 - Local unit Unical title of the project "Simulation and Training. The effects of simulation training in skills and in their proper management ", scientific director Prof. C. Piu. The research has allowed the following publications [11], [12].
[PR2003] - The purpose of this research was to illustrate how a WIS (Web based Information System) can be considered a tool to enhance the management, dissemination and sharing of knowledge on the web, passing a narrower vision that would see only the WIS as business tools in a strict sense, extending them, therefore, to applications e-learning-oriented, web learning, teleworking, etc. The final goal of this study was the implementation of technological infrastructure on which a WIS-learning must rest. The study has allowed the following publication [30].
[PR2002] - The research sought to explain the technological and human factors that govern the development and management of an educational portal, specifying some solutions regarding the management of educational content from being created in the presentation of the user. In that regard has been designed and implemented the technology infrastructure on which it must rest.
[GR87] - The purpose of this research was the study of a man-machine interaction protocol using a videodisc and evaluating the impact of this form of communication in interpersonal relationships.
