Gender Equality Plan (GEP)

The 2022 Gender Equality Plan (GEP) of the University of Calabria is a document integrated into the university's strategic planning process and finalized, according to the indications of the European Institute for Gender Equality, EIGE ), to "identify and implement innovative strategies to encourage cultural change and promote equal opportunities in universities and research centres". The general structure of the Plan is divided into 6 thematic macro-areas of reference, broken down into specific actions and sub-actions to be implemented according to short and medium-term objectives:

Area 1. Private/work life balance and organizational culture;

Area 2. Gender balance, leadership and decision-making processes;

Area 3. Gender equality in recruitment and career progression;

Area 4. Integration of the gender perspective in Research, Teaching, Training and the Third Mission;

Area 5. Measures to combat all forms of gender-related discrimination and all forms of gender violence, including sexual harassment;

Area 6. Institutional communication.

The GEP integrates with the University's programming tools, and in particular with the 2020-22 Strategic Plan, with the Gender Budget which provides the data for the upstream context analysis and allows the reporting and evaluation of the impact of downstream actions, the CUG Positive Action Plan and with the HRS4R Action Plan, which sees the University as a candidate in 2022 for the Human Resources Strategy For Researchers certification.
