SUMMER SCHOOL: Italian Diaspora Studies 2017

A high-quality Summer School dedicated to the subject of the Italian Diaspora, held anually (third edition)

Italian Diaspora Studiesis a high-quality Summer School dedicated to the subject of the Italian Diaspora, held anually (for 3 years now) in June/July hosted by Prof. Margherita Ganeri (UNICAL), Fred L. Gardaphé (CUNY), and Anthony Julian Tamburri (CUNY). PhDs, researchers, and professors from the United States and Canada attend it.

The program aims to introduce participants to the study of the Italian Diaspora from a cultural point of view and following a variety of academic perspectives. 

The summer course includes a series of workshops within the literary, cinematographic and social sciences fields. This program, of very high scientific and cultural value, places nationally the University of Calabria at the forefront in the field of studies on Italian communities abroad and their cultures. Along with a number of other related initiatives such as the foundation of the Italian American Literature and Culture and program (Italian Studies), which is the first and only in Italy foreseen within the Master's Degree in Modern Philology.
