EUPeace
The University of Calabria is part of EUPeace, a project that originated from the "European Universities" call by the European Commission. This initiative aims to establish a transnational university, allowing students to freely move among various European universities. The primary objective is to create a global environment that promotes peace, justice, and social inclusion.
The universities pursue these goals through work packages, coordinating and selecting strategies. The University of Calabria leads in WP5, 'Campus and Student Life,' and co-leads 'Research Hubs and Doctoral Studies. Students, Faculty and Staff will offer an important contribution to the implementation of the numerous activities resulting from the project.
Eight Work Packages: Project management, coordination, quality monitoring and governance (WP1); Transforming Curricula (WP2); Internationalisation of Teacher Education (WP3); Facilitating Mobility (WP4); Campus and Student Life (WP5); Research Hubs and Doctoral Studies (WP6); Societal Dialogue (WP7); Impact and Dissemination (WP8).
Our students will have a unique experience as they can avail themselves of opportunities provided by different European universities. Special attention is given to fostering a collaborative atmosphere, where individuals from diverse backgrounds come together to contribute to the shared goals of peace, justice, and social inclusion.
The specific attention dedicated to promoting the values of peace and social inclusion indicates that the EUPeace Alliance aims to contribute to education that not only focuses on the academic aspect but also on the development of social and cultural skills, essential for understanding and appreciating interculturality and diverse worldviews. Furthermore, this initiative reflects the commitment of the involved institutions to promote collaboration and international exchange among students, professors, researchers, and administrative staff.
EUPeace, therefore, provides a transnational perspective on higher education, fostering greater intercultural understanding that will contribute to building bridges between different European academic communities.
