Guidance

It is a free service, destined to secondary grade school students, who are going to face the choice of a university career, providing them with the tools of self-knowledge to increase their awareness during the decision-making process. Orientation Counselling actively participates in Open Days at UniCal. Choice Orientation Workshops are also held at some higher education institutions for students in the last two years of secondary schools. The main objectives are:

• to strengthen the student’s knowledge of those factors that intervene in guiding the choice of university and/or job;

• to develop greater awareness in self-knowledge in the choice project;

• orientation or re-orientation with respect to the academic pathway both for problems related to university choice and in completing the study cycle.

This is a free university service, destined to students and PhD students at UniCal who are experiencing situations of personal or motivational distress, or study difficulties with the following specific objectives:

• To offer psychological support for conditions of academic and personal distress;

• To promote processes of adaptation and psychological well-being;

• To offer emotional support and systematic help in moments of crisis or change that are widespread in the university population.

The psychological counselling service is provided in the following steps:

1. reception: preliminary interview

2. cycle of individual or group clinical interviews

3. ollow-up interview

* For emergencies and specific needs it is necessary to contact the local Mental Health services.
